Midnight Mass by Krista Ann Schwimmer

Your legs –

white birch in woodlands.

Your torso –

standing stone in moonlight.

Your mouth –

black smoker on ocean floor.

And I am leaning, leaning, leaning

forward

into the shimmering strength

that strides out of

your massive wilderness.

And my tongue – silver lizard

and my lips – crescent moons

grope quickly

for your one-eyed godhead

that awakens and rises

with my quickening desire.
