Have mercy by Nathaniel Terrell

I chase what I can not catch

My heart defies my brain

How can I play the devil's advocate

And boldly pray in Jesus name

I pay tithes, I also pay penance

God forgive me for my sins

For my failures, vain ambitions

And for when I sin again

Greatness is within me

I battle legions buried deep

My vices are poor substitutes

For the happiness I seek

Am I the author of chaos?

I wonder when will enough be enough

Will I ever break this cycle

Of falling down and getting right back up?

The sun has begun to set

Tomorrow is not promised

If I remember the answer from my dreams

When I awake I can solve this problem
